Our GetWise Forest School mission is to engage and inspire individuals of all ages through an ongoing programme of positive experience and participation in woodland activities.

People of all ages can benefit from the GetWise Forest School’s structured approach to developing use of tools, playing, creating, exploring, learning and confidence boosting activities. Our aim is to explore woodland environments, where the children experience a variety of flora, fauna and insects. We work to develop their self confidence and individual learning needs. Photographs are  taken throughout the sessions and linked into individual learning journeys and additional planning is then carried out to ensure that each child's needs are met.

As part of our child centred approach, we provide sessions where children can choose to explore ideas in and around a chosen theme or pursue their own interests. For example:

Foundation Stage and KS1 may work along a simple story that unfolds each week and where they are both author and actor.

KS2 may work along a theme such as the Brothers Grimm, exploring different story ideas and using role play to develop ideas.

KS3 may work on more complex ideas, such as Robinson Crusoe, and explore how he might live in our woodlands and how his life affects his environment
